When we moved to the OBX last year and had to transfer our insurance from Maryland to NC , Sonya Sikes from Island Insurance Agency. Inc in Manteo was AWESOME. We had to get both Car and Home Owners insurance and with the insurance needed in NC being much different than in Maryland, Sonya was great and showing us what was best for us and our specific insurance needs.

Island Insurance has always treated us as a neighborhood friend. They work hard to get the appropriate level of insurance to meet our needs by comparing policies and patiently explaining in layperson terms the differences and costs. Over the years they have made suggestions to reduce our costs by changing policies or making modifications to our property. For my boat, I once had a homeowners policy rider plus a separate policy for water towing . At their suggestion, I now save money by purchasing a policy that both insures for accident AND towing.

I recently switched insurance to Island Insurance Agency. I was referred there and I thought I would call them and get a free quote. I have been dealing with another insurance company for 20 years and they raised my rates due to an car accident. I spoke to Agent Sonya Sikes about my situation of my wreck. She was very polite and pleasant to work with over the phone. She found me another company for me. She has save us 1000 a year and getting better coverage. I will rate them a 10 plus, for helping me out. Great Service, Great Value. Thanks so much.

I have two cheap vehicles and I know I'm not making them much $$ but they were still so friendly and helpful
